Professor Sean Tierney (MB BSc MCh FRCSI) graduated from University College Dublin (UCD) in 1987 and trained in surgery in Dublin, Limerick, Baltimore (USA) and London. Sean has been a Consultant Vascular Surgeon in Tallaght University Hospital in Dublin since 2000. He is a Senior Lecturer in Trinity College Dublin medical school. He was appointed Professor of Surgical Informatics in RCSI (2009) and Dean of Professional Development & Practice in RCSI in 2011. Sean has over 80 peer reviewed papers, book chapters and reviews. He was President of the Irish Medical Organisation in 2010; the IMO is the largest representative body for doctors in Ireland.
